The arrival of music streaming services was the last straw that Apple was missing to check how the change in trend when consuming music was a reality, being the sale of music a deficit business. But through streaming we can also consume video. Thanks to the subscriptions that offer us access to an almost unlimited catalog. But this type of service mainly offers us TV series, since the catalog of films available is usually quite old and we will never be able to find news or films that recently arrived in theaters. The solution to this problem is iTunes.
In the next keynote, it is more than likely that Apple will introduce the 5th generation Apple TV, a device that supports 4k HDR content. But in order to take advantage of these features, the guys from Cupertino have to add a large number of titles to those that are currently available through iTunes in this format. To do this, he has been meeting with the main studios for several months to be able to reach an agreement that benefits both parties and be able to offer movies in 4k quality, but it seems that both parties have not quite reached an agreement on the price at which they have to put for sale.
Apple believes that if it wants this type of content to be popular, it has to offer it at an attractive price, 20 dollars, however, the main studies consider that this price is too low and want the sale price to be between 25 and 30 dollars. Currently the movies in HD quality that iTunes offers us and that have just arrived on the Apple platform are priced at $ 20, so the price would be the same allowing us to enjoy the movies in 4k for the same price.
In Spain the price of the most recent films in the cinema is 13,99 euros for the HD version, while the SD version is 11,99 euros, so it makes sense that higher quality movies are available at a higher price. Apple wants to settle this issue before the presentation of the new Apple TV, which is expected to be unveiled on September 12, in two weeks.
