It's been a long time since we've talked about Apple Pay's international expansion both in Europe and beyond. Brazil will be the next country to receive Apple Pay, officially confirmed by Tim Cook himself. But it will not be the only one, since the list of next countries se has just expanded with the Netherlands and Belgium.

This information, coincidentally, does not come from both countries, but has originated from Apple's website in Italy. As we can read on Culture.nl, a website of Apple fans such as Soy de Mac, Apple has closed a deal with Bunq in the Netherlands, an Amsterdam-based bank that appears on the List of European banks compatible with Apple Pay.

Bunq appears within the banks compatible with Apple Pay in Italy, where this contactless payment technology is available last year around this time. Culture.nl has contacted a bank spokesperson who claims that can not comment on absolutely anything about the possible arrival of Apple Pay in the Netherlands, until next March 20, when a press release will be launched.

Belgium, where Bunq Bank is also located, could also be the next country where Apple Pay technology for making secure payments through mobile is available. As of today, and according to the latest data from the Loup Venetures consultancy, Apple Pay has just over 127 million users worldwide, which represents only 16% of all users with an iPhone compatible with NFC technology.

Today, Apple Pay is available at United States, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Canada.
