Do I buy my Mac now or wait for me?

imac-1

We are already at that time of year when we have to advise on the option of buying or not a Mac now. Many are the users who throughout the year ask us if it is a good time to buy a Mac and although it is always a good time for a purchase of this type, when we get to late September early October the most sensible thing to do is to wait a bit.

I imagine you are already on the case about the possibility that Apple will launch this coming week -at most during this month of October- a new 21,5-inch iMac with Retina screen, but And what about the MacBook? Well this is a question that surely has an easy answer, the renewed MacBook will also arrive shortly.

To all this we have to say that changes at the design level and others are not being rumored so do not expect this type of external modifications, but we do not rule out the possibility to see the new USB-C port on the MacBook Pro even though nothing about it is being rumored either.

Do I buy my Mac now or wait for me?

At this time the best thing is to wait and see what Apple can show us on the Mac line. Obviously if your machine doesn't work or you need it urgently, don't wait any longer and buy one of the current Macs, you won't regret it, but the logic at this point indicates that if you can, wait.

  • 27 and 21,5-inch iMac they were renewed in May of 2015
  • MacBook Pro they also saw new processors in May of 2015
  • MacBook Air they were renewed in March 2015
  • Mac mini they launched into October 2014
  • Mac Pro was launched in December 2013
  • MacBook not Retina in June 2012 (inadvisable)

Ultimately the final decision is always up to the user and any current Mac is an excellent product.

In my case, I already want to change my iMac bought in May 2008 (2007 model!), But I just updated it to El Capitan and the truth is that it works well. Obviously, sometimes it is a bit slow, the USB ports are slow, occasionally it gets a bit stuck, etc. but in general my satisfaction is high and I am still in love with its design after so many years. So with each new iMac (I prefer a desktop to a laptop) it makes me want to buy, but between the price and the fact that mine is going well, I have been postponing the change for a few generations. I'm not in a hurry, nor is it essential, but I feel like it… I think I'll wait to see what's new in iMac and maybe I propose to spend 8 years with the same computer. In my case, when I was using PC it was UNTHINKABLE.
