Japan and Brazil will also receive Apple Pay this year

Apple Pay's expansion is slower than it should. Either Apple has difficulties with the banks to reach agreements or it is directly moving from them and is associating directly with card issuers such as American Express. Thanks to the agreement with American Express, Apple Pay will arrive in a few months, still unspecified, to Spain, Singapore and Hong Kong. Apparently MasterCard has joined the party and will also offer Apple Pay electronic payment technology in Japan, Brazil, Hong Kong and Singapore throughout this year, without specifying an exact date. This information has been published by 9to5Mac from anonymous sources from MasterCard.

If these rumors finally come true, during this year Apple could double the number of countries where Apple Pay is currently available. At the moment Apple Pay can be used to make purchases in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and China, where it arrived a few days ago. If all the rumors finally come true, Spain, France, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore could also enjoy this technology before the end of the year. Precisely in some of those countries, Apple Pay would come from the hand of two different companies such as MasterCard and American Express.

Last October, Tim Cook announced the arrival of Apple Pay Spain, Hong Kong and Singapore but since then, we have not had any more information about it, neither officially nor through rumors. We do not know if they are taking it very calmly, or if they are keeping the negotiations with American Express in absolute secrecy so that from one day to the next it reaches the market, that is if only using their cards, as happens currently in Canada.
