When we talk about shipping figures for Mac we always have to take into account many factors, but in this case the data that IDC shows us with their Mac shipping data is not good at all. It should also be noted that PC shipments have grown by 4,8%, so we are facing negative figures for the Cupertino company.
Apple's shipments for the last quarter of the year are 4,7 million units and this quantity is 5,3% less than during the same period of the previous year. We know that Mac is not changed every year, far from it, but these data offered by the IDC are a clear indication that Mac sales are focusing on a more professional and less everyday user, who iPad arrives more easily.
Apple shipments in terms of Macs fall by 3 points over the same period of the previous year and this is quite negative data considering that the total sales of computers grew by 2,3 points as can be seen in the total of the image that we leave here below. It is certainly not an abysmal drop but it is the largest of all the brands shown in the capture.
Another point to take into account in the data provided by the IDC is the decrease in 2019 total shipments Compared to last year 2018, these data warn that the company sent about 17,7 million Macs during that year compared to the 18 million that were sent in 2018. Worldwide, it seems that things are more stable than in the United States if we look at the lower graph, highlighting that it does not reach that 8% of the total shipments either that was achieved in 2018.
In short, it seems that this should be a less complicated year for Macs, a year in which the firm has to introduce new changes in its equipment to increase sales or else you could enter a chain of decline that does not interest you at all.
