New patent indicates that the Apple Watch could measure blood pressure

Apple wants its watch to be the perfect device for measuring people's health. With the functions that you have right now such as the ECG and those that you want to add as prevent panic attacks, it is not enough. A new patent establishes how the American company wants the Apple Watch to be able to measure blood pressure. What we commonly call measuring tension.

It seems crazy, because for measurements of this type devices much larger and more cumbersome than a watch have been used until now, but the American company wants to achieve it and no external peripherals of any kind.

The Apple Wacth could measure blood pressure according to a patent

Apple wants the Apple Watch to be able to determine the blood pressure we have and without any peripheral to help it in that adventure. According to a new patent, the so-called 10.646.121 that has been released, the watch would be able to measure pressure with similar data precision to existing medical devices for this.

What Apple proposes is that Instead of having sensors arranged through a bracelet or some other additional wrist device, the watch itself gets readings from a bunch of sensors. A combination of hardware and software would take advantage of this range of sensors to calculate accurate readings.

Although the patent document does not expressly mention the Apple Watch, it does speak of a wrist device. But the company is unlikely to want to market a custom device for this task. Especially taking into account the effort that the company is making to introduce new health parameters on the Apple watch.

As always when we talk about patents, we have to say that it may or may not come to light. At the moment it is just an idea.
