OneDrive now offers files on demand feature on macOS

Cloud storage services have today become the most widely used method for storing any type of document so that we can always have it at hand when we need it. iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox are the main services, at least the best known, which offer us both free and paid space.

On September 27, Microsoft added a new beta feature to the Office suite, a feature that allowed us to work with files stored in OneDrive without having to download everything stored content, which allows us to save a large amount of storage especially if it is our main source of cloud storage.

After more than three months of testing, the Redmond giant has officially launched this functionality, so that we can access all the content stored in the cloud without having to download it previously as we could do with iCloud without going any further. This allows us to download only the file we want to work with, edit it and automatically upload it to the cloud without us having to do absolutely anything.

A few months ago, Apple and Microsoft announced that before the end of 2018, Office would be available on the Mac App Store, but at the moment as we can see, it is not yet available.

We do not know why it is not available yet, but if the agreement was already made, it is not fully understood what the reason for the delay may be, even more so now that Apple has started collaborating with third parties, as is the case with the arrival of Apple Music to the Amazon Echo or the Airplay 2 availability to Samsung TVs, televisions that will also have access to the iTunes Store to view, buy or rent any content available on the Apple platform.
