Spanish Apple Stores increase their profits by 73% in 2019

The financial numbers of the Spanish Apple stores 2019 are much better than 2018. They have increased the profit of their sales a lot. It means that they have sold many more high-priced products than the previous year. This is great news.

And I am very happy to be able to explain this bonanza of the Spanish Apple stores. And not because of the company, which is also getting great numbers worldwide, but because this means that the economy of Spaniards has improved compared to 2018. If we leave more money in Apple Stores, it is a good sign.

The financial journal Expansion has published a report on the data that Apple has presented in the Mercantile Registry of Spain. He explains that the American company has registered an increase in its profit of 73 percent in 2019, compared to the previous year.

According to the study, Apple has raised the average selling price of its products in Spain by more than 20%, which now exceeds the 1.000 Euros. The company also reported record profits of 12,78 million, 73% more than in 2018. Although this might not sound surprising for a company of Apple's size, let alone its global financial presence, in 2017 the Spanish retail operation Apple posted a slight loss of 371.000 euros.

It also highlights that, despite registering a substantial increase in profits, Apple only paid 1,19 million in taxes last year, compared to 4,6 million the previous year. The report notes that Apple's 11 Spanish stores employ more than 1.200 people. More than a hundred people work in each Spanish Store, an outrage.

The report also provides financial data for Apple Marketing Iberia, an independent Spanish company that offers support and marketing services. This group recorded revenues of 76,3 million euros, and a profit of 42,1 million. The report suggests that this "hints at strong business growth in Spain."

It is certainly great news to see that Apple's business in Spain is in very good health. This is important, since it is an indication that the economy of our country was in good health in 2019. Unfortunately, this year will be another story.
