The first beta of 1Password for M1 processors is now available

Update 1Password

The 1Password guys are usually always one of the first to take advantage of news that Apple introduced in each new version of macOS, however, it seems that if we talk about new hardware, things are very different.

While it is true that this application was one of the first to update to macOS Big Sur, adding support for unlocking the application with the Apple Watch, it has not yet launched a version of the application for ARM processors, something that some developers like those of affinity.

At least he's already working on it and just released to first beta for teams managed by Apple's M1 processor, a beta that you can download through of this link.

Earlier this week, Dave Teare, founder of the company, stated in a blog post that he was using 1Password is his new Mac managed by Apple's M1 processor via the Rosseta 2 emulator and that the results were spectacular.

Running applications through a hardware emulator has always been a slow process. However, I was surprised to find that 1Password ran as fast as ever. It was a delight, without a doubt. Apple has really done a great job and many of the developers are grateful for making the transition so smooth and fast.

This first beta of 1Password for ARM devices includes the main novelty that has arrived with the update of the application to Big Sur, an update that works hand in hand with the Apple Watch and that allows us to unblock access to the application in the same way that we can also unlock access to the equipment, a function available from any Mac that will hit the market from 2014.
