Wagner Moura to star in Apple TV + series "Shining Girls"

A new familiar face that this year will also debut on Apple's streaming video platform. Wagner Moura, Pablo Escobar from the famous series "Narcos", will be the protagonist of a new series that we will see this year on Apple TV +.

It will be a new chapter-based intrigue thriller called «Shining girls«. If we take into account that filming has not started yet, it will most likely be released at the end of the year. We already have one more reason to subscribe to Apple TV + when the free year promotion runs out.

Deadline published this week that Wagner Moura, the famous actor who plays the role of Pablo Escobar On the Netflix series "Narcos," he will star alongside Elisabeth Moss in a new series for Apple TV + titled "Shining Girls."

This series will be a metaphysical thriller of travel in time based on the novel of the same name by the writer Lauren beukes. The story revolves around a homeless man from the time of the Chicago Depression who discovers a key to a house that is unlocked at different times in the history of that North American city. However, to travel through the portal, you must go murdering different women.

Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men," "The West Wing") will play the role of a reporter who survived an attack in the 1980s, and now still goes after who tried to kill him. Moura will play Dan, a journalist who publishes the story.

Showrunner Silka Luisa is adapting Beukes' novel for television and will serve as executive producer. Moss will also produce the series through Love & Squalor Pictures studio along with Lindsey McManus. Apple TV + has explained that "Shining Girls" is part of an agreement with Appian Way Productions, owned by Leonardo DiCaprio. DiCaprio will executive produce alongside Jennifer Davidson.

Considering that filming has yet to begin on the series, we can't expect it to premiere on Apple TV + until End of the year.
