We have no doubt at this point that the Koogeek company is one of the many brands that is strongly committed to Apple's HomeKit technology. This Chinese firm has a good handful of accessories compatible with this technology and today we want to share with you the experience of using the 3-socket and 3-USB charging port.
It is a normal power strip but it has the peculiarity of being somewhat larger in size than the normal power strips that we can have at home and that can also be controlled from our Mac anywhere. Yes, as you surely know, HomeKit technology arrived on Macs thanks to macOS Mojave and we want get the most out of it from our Mac.
During this past Black Friday and the subsequent «Cyber Monday» the company was quite aggressive with its discount campaign and this has led many users to launch the purchase of some of its many products that have HomeKit compatibility. In this case, the strip with three sockets and three USB ports was a very good option thanks to the reduction in its price.
Quality of materials and design
It is true that the materials with which this strip is made is mostly ABS plastic, but it is that for these products it is what is used and therefore there is not much to highlight except that it would be great to have black in addition to white but this is nothing important.
The design of this power strip is simple and very normal except for the buttons next to each of the sockets. This is because all three work individually and this is great. At the bottom we find the three USB ports that mark a bit for which devices they are designed: iPhone, iPod and iPad. But in reality we can connect any device through the USB A of all life.
Main Specifications
Obviously we have three european plugs consuming a maximum of 250VAC, 50Hz. These taps are rated at 10A, 2500W (maximum) and are CE, RoHS, Wi-Fi certified. The approximate measurements of the strip are 65 x 65 x 90 mm and it weighs 139g, something that is noticeable when we take it in hand and is that it is quite heavy.
The good thing is the option that allows you to turn off or activate the plugs directly from the power strip itself or use HomeKit from anywhere. Another advantage of this Smart Outlet strip is that it allows us manage plugs one by one and therefore it is very comfortable for many options for domotization of lamps, speakers or even to charge devices when we are away from home.
The three USB ports have no control through HomeKit, so they are always active to be able to charge our iPhone, iPad or any other device through the USB A port.
Smart Outlet Price
In this case, it can be said that there are three plugs in one, with three USB A ports and therefore the price will not be as if we bought a single plug but despite this it is profitable to buy this strip in comparison. The Smart Outlet you can get in No products found.
