From Appleinsider we receive a news related to a new patent presented by the Cupertino. This patent does not seek anything other than to obtain thinner devices for which the different connection ports of their devices have to go through boxes. Already at the time the famous connector Dock that lasted nothing more and no less than ten years and that delighted everyone since the first iPod Classic.
Subsequently, the Dock port was redesigned to the modern, much thinner and reversible Lightning port, allowing mobile devices to decrease in thickness and size. This remodeled port has been followed by the new port 12-inch MacBook USB-C and now it's finally the audio jack connector.
As we have anticipated, Apple has patented what could be the future of the audio jack of a lifetime for both its new mobile devices and its ultra-thin laptops. It is clear that if this situation occurs we would be facing a connection that could be extended to other manufacturers or before an own connection for Apple headphones.
This new plug is a modification of the one that currently exists that, as we all know, can rotate around its axis as it is symmetric of revolution. Apple's bet, shown in the images that we attach, goes through "cut" a percentage of the body of the jack plug leaving a D shape that will not allow it to rotate, having a position of use.
Let's see when a patent so that the cables do not peel ...
Apple's first useless patent ... Well, there are quite a few, but this one takes the cake.
It loses compatibility with the jack, so only apple headphones can be used. It loses the advantage that it can rotate, thus it remains fixed, being able to break by lever.
For that to have created a lightnight for audio, it would be flatter, or like the inventions of Htc, in the usb connector.
Absolutely. When there are alternatives to Apple headphones on the market, eg: Sony MDR-EX38 (ones that I have) much cheaper, better quality price.
