A statement from Tim Cook leaks to employees in which he attacks the leaks

Tim Cook

On Tuesday, September 21, Tim Cook sent an email to all employees about his meeting with the employees last week, a meeting that it was leaked to the press last week.

At this meeting, Tim Cook stated that will not require their employees to be vaccinated to return to their job but if they will demand frequent COVID-19 testing among unvaccinated employees.

In this email, Tim Cook talks about the leak of this meeting, emphasizing that the company is doing "everything possible" to identify those who leaked it, stating that people who leak confidential information, they do not belong to Apple and mention what it feels like  frustrated with the leaks.

This new statement that he has sent to employees has also been leaked to the media. It is powerfully striking that a memorandum criticizing the company's leaks has also been leaked, since they do nothing more than confirm that Apple's countermeasures are not being effective.

Here is the full statement translated into Spanish.

Dear team,

It was great connecting with you at the global employee meeting on Friday. There was much to celebrate, from our remarkable new product line to our values-driven work around climate change, racial fairness and privacy. It was a good opportunity to reflect on our many achievements and to discuss your concerns.

I am writing to you today because I have heard that many of you were incredibly frustrated to see that the content of the meeting was leaked to reporters. This comes after a product launch in which most of the details of our announcements were also leaked to the press.

I want you to know that I share your frustration. These opportunities to connect as a team are really important. But they only work if we can trust that the content will stay within Apple. I want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to identify the leakers.

As you know, we do not tolerate the disclosure of confidential information, be it the intellectual property of a product or the details of a confidential meeting. We know that leakers are a small number of people. We also know that people who leak sensitive information shouldn't be here.

Looking forward, I want to thank you for everything you have done to make our products a reality and everything you will do to get them into the hands of customers. Yesterday we launched iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and watchOS 8, and on Friday it's time to share with the world some of our incredible news. There is nothing better than that. We will continue to measure our contributions to the lives we change, the connections we foster, and the work we do to leave the world a better place.

Thank you,

Tim

Will Apple be able to avoid the leaks in the future?
