A14X processors are ready for the new Macs with Apple Silicon

MacBook A14X

According to the well-known DigiTimes medium, the Apple A14X processors are now ready for the new iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models that Apple could present during the keynote announced for next week. These processors would be the same that would mount the 12-inch MacBook (always according to what they explain in DigiTimes) and it would be able to offer a range of about 15 or 20 hours.

This new processor will be manufactured by TSMC and it is foreseeable that in MacBook they will have less power limitations than in iPhone 12 and it is that the battery of the Mac is much larger in size and therefore can squeeze a little more the power of these Apple Silicon manufactured in 5nm.

Apple will launch an iPad Pro with these processors

In addition to the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro and MacBooks, the Cupertino company would launch an iPad Pro with these A14X. This processor would be in several devices and therefore it is assumed that it will adapt to them depending on the battery and power they will need. Power is important but also autonomy, so it will depend on the equipment to give more or less power to the device and in the case of the iPad we are sure that it will be powerful enough as it is the Pro model.

In the case of Mac with ARM we will have the first equipment with these processors and it is expected to arrive by the end of this year or early 2021, about the date there is nothing clear since due to the COVID-19 pandemic the dates vary quite. In any case, the important thing is that we will soon have the first Macs with these processors and this will be a first step for the rest of the models in the range, which will be added over time. The A14X processor could be remembered as the first to be mounted on a Mac after years with Intel.
