Enable 2880x1800 resolution on the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display

Retina

OS X does not allow use of the native resolution of the Retina display that comes with the new 15-inch MacBook Pro. It also doesn't make much sense except on rare occasions as text and menus become extremely small.

If you would like to use Lion at 2880 × 1800, you just have to download the utility ChangeResolution, execute it and enter the resolution in the text field like this: «2880 1800» (without quotes).

Then you have to press the OK button and in the next dialog box, click on Keep if we agree with the changes made.

To reverse the changes made, all we have to do is enter System Preferences and go to Display Settings.
