Adobe puts fonts created by Bauhaus in Creative Cloud

Adobe has up to five fonts expressly created by the Bauhaus school of design. We will have at our disposal two of the five sources shortly, but to access them we must have contracted the Creative Cloud service, via Adobe Typekit.

It is a project that the company launched in collaboration with Erik spiekermann called The Hidden Treasures Bauhaus Dessau. Unless you are familiar with text editing, Mr. Spiekermann has done work for Cisco, Mozilla and AutoDesk teamsTherefore, he is a dedicated professional with a high reputation, now reporting to Adobe.

The project arises in the most casual way. Unfinished sketches that the school had made many years ago were discovered. In collaboration with Adobe, they have recomposed all the vocabulary developed by the Bauhaus school, which closed its doors in Germany in 1932.

The team of typography professionals, as well as design students, have worked with the copies to adapt them to Illustrator CC. The composition and digitization work has taken them a long time. The names of the first sources, such as "Joschmi" and "Xants" are available from today. Adobe has announced that the rest of the fonts will be available in the coming months.

To this day, we know the name of the new sources: Alfred Arndt, Carl Marx and Reinhold Rossig. Adobe works on five design challenges. Participants can get a trip to the Bauhaus historical archives.

Apple bears great similarities to the Bauhaus school of design. To this day they know many compositions from the German school, and the straight lines, the minimalism that they harbor in common are striking. Surely Apple's product designers are inspired in some way by the designs of the German firm. On the other hand, a large part of the followers of the Bauhaus trend are inspired by their creations in Apple products, being further proof of the coincidence in design.

The new fonts are available for use in Adobe applications.
