In the past few days, Adobe updated the Lightroom photo editor for both Mac and iOS. Many users still use Lightroom Classic and Adobe updates it regularly. On this occasion they have updated the application so that it takes advantage of all the power of the Mac. Among the most outstanding novelties we find the GPU acceleration, the batch combination for HDR and panoramic photos.
From this moment we have at our disposal the download of the desktop version. The Classic version of Lightroom is an older version of Adobe Lightroom. Some users are used to this application and have not migrated to later versions.
This version brings an improvement in editing thanks to GPU acceleration. But this option is disabled by default and we must go to application preferences to select it. You get a smoother experience, when you have to carry out the editing of several photos. In Adobe's words:
GPU acceleration is more pronounced with higher resolution monitors (4k and above), as well as more powerful GPUs.
Another feature expected by Lightroom Classic users is the batch combination for HDR and panoramic photos. But these improvements are not only focused on image editing. Other options in the workflow, such as export to PNG or the use of colored labels to organize our collection of photographs, are other novelties.
Lightroom Classic becomes more and more compatible with the Abobe cloud, Creative Cloud. If we are subscribed to Creative Cloud, we can now recover deleted photos from the last 60 days. Until now the only way to recover these photos was to go to our personal backup. Taking advantage of the update, Adobe offers support for the latest cameras on the market.
Those interested in subscribing to Lightroom can do so from € 12,09 per month, or € 144,33 per year.
