Affinity Photo, a new photo editor to stand up to Photoshop

At the end of last year, the British company Serif surprised us all with the launch of Affinity Designer, a vector drawing application that aimed to stand up directly to Adobe software, Illustrator. This one had a very clear interface and a much lower price than its competition. It thus became one of the best alternatives to the Adobe program. So much so that it received many awards for the quality it offered and the great acceptance of design professionals. Serif announced that they were working on two more shows, Affinity Photo y Affinity Publisher, alternatives to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Indesign respectively. Well, yesterday the first open beta of Affinity Photo was announced and this is what we will find.

Affinity Photo: a very viable alternative to Photoshop

The first thing that we are going to find when opening the program is a much friendlier interface compared to the Adobe version, although at the moment there are features that are not included because it is a beta, we do find a very stable version so that we can test and test this program in a completely free.

In its options we can find features as basic as filters, layers, masks, color correction tools and an endless number of tools that offer us practically everything that it offers us Photoshop.

It is perhaps the key to the success of Serif programs, that ability so that any type of user can quickly find everything they need in a clear way, without forgetting of course professional users.

The Serif program, Affinity Photo, offers a clear and intuitive interface to be able to do from very basic things to complex elaborations

Like any new program, we will need an adaptation period to be able to take advantage of this software, but this period becomes shorter and more enjoyable as we find a friendly interface that will make this process much easier. This feeling is what his brother already left me Affinity Designer, that in a short period of time I was able to get the potential I needed.

For now we have the first beta of the program, so future beta versions will include new features until the program is complete and can be purchased. from the App Store for a price much lower than Photoshop even than its monthly plans. You can find the free download for OSX on the official Serif page.
