After updating the HomePod to 14.5 some users are having problems accessing Apple Music

Last week Apple released the final version of iOS 14.5 and iPad 14.5 a version that, finally, allows us unlock your iPhone with your Apple Watch on your wrist (a function that could have arrived several months ago) in addition to introducing a new system that asks the user if they want applications to track their data.

Along with this update, Apple also released version 14.5 of the HomePod however, it seems that this update it is not working as it should since some users affirm that they cannot use the command Hey Siri to request a song, playlist… in Apple Music.

Version 14.5 for the HomePod focused on fixing various bugs, without introducing any new functionality. Last monday, Apple released a new update for iOS 14.5.1 with “bug fixes and performance improvements” that fixes the issue that the Tracking Transparency switch in the configuration options is grayed out in some countries.

Along with this version, Apple also released version 14.5.1 of the software for the HomePod, an update that not solved the problem either. Some users claim that by factory resetting the HomePod, Siri has again understood requests for playback through Apple Music. As I have commented, this problem is not very widespread, but there it is. If you are experiencing a malfunction with the HomePod, it seems that the option is to restore it from scratch.

This problem it is only affecting the HomePod, not the HomePod mini. Over the past week and early this week, some of Apple's services such as iTunes and Apple Music have experienced malfunctions, problems that may have been to blame for these failures. It is also likely that during the installation process this was not carried out correctly since when restoring the device, it works again as it was at the beginning.
