One of the things I appreciate most about an operating system is the ability to make complex things simple. It is also true that buying time between tasks is the order of the day. In addition to making difficult things easy is in Apple's DNA. But not everything is perfect. When AirPods hit the market, one of the features that users liked the most was the automatic connection when the sound source was on an iPhone, Mac or Apple Watch. The option chosen by the company is synchronization with the iCloud account and we must say that the result has been perfect.
However sync them automatically with Apple TV, not available yet. Many users consume content from Apple TV with headphones to watch their favorite series or simply as an Apple Music player and demanded that the connection be automatic. Well, we are in luck, because the option auto sync will be available on tvOS 11, which will be available starting this fall.
Until now, when users decide to connect any wireless device via Bluetooth, they performed the same task, regardless of being AirPods or any wireless headset or speaker. The procedure is the next:
- You have to put your AirPods in pairing mode or visible to other devices.
- Turn on the Apple TV, if you have not already done so, and on the home screen go to "Settings".
- Click on "Controls and Devices".
- Look for the "bluetooth" option.
- When Apple TV finds the headphones, you select them.
The things we ask of the tvOS developers is that it is a multi-user product, that allows inserting more than one iCloud account so that the whole family can use their own AirPods, and even at the same time. In addition, this would give an important qualitative leap to the protagonist of Apple at home.
