AirPort Extreme, AirPort Express and AirPort Time Capsule will no longer be sold at Apple

Not even 24 hours ago it crossed my mind to write an article in which I talked about the possibility that Apple began to do a little cleaning of its devices, between this cleaning all the AirPorts were added to the list and it seems that finally Apple took the step and now it is official that they will stop having them in their product catalog.

The AirPort Extreme, AirPort Express, and AirPort Time Capsule officially disappear at Apple today. This is not news that we like, Far from it, but you can't have a product in your catalog without updating for years and Apple routers have not been updated for a long time.

An Apple spokesperson announced the news to the well-known medium iMore:

We are discontinuing Apple AirPort base station products. They will be available through Apple.com, Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last.

Lack of updates for AirPorts

I remember a few years ago when Apple routers were a very interesting option to replace the lousy routers of the operators. Nowadays these have improved somewhat the routers that they offer but still and with those they are quite bad. In any case, the option of buying an Apple router was no longer an option for many users who went for other brands with more current hardware. Apple already stopped supporting AirPorts a while ago and until today it had them for sale on its website, but this has already come to an end and now officially communicate that these will stop being sold when the current stock runs out.

If you want to buy a new router because your operator's does not convince you, now You can no longer opt for the official purchase of these AirPorts, but Apple makes available to users some purchase recommendations on your website
