ASPI report accuses Apple vendors of exploiting displaced Uyghurs

Suppliers

It seems that the suppliers of the Cupertino company in China would be exploiting labor speaking to thousands of displaced Uyghurs. To put the ASPI-filtered report in context, which stands for the Australian Institute of Political Strategy, explains that the exploitation of this minority is exploited by Apple's suppliers. This report details that about 1 million Xinjiang Uyghurs, mostly Muslims, are being used by suppliers of the big brands that manufacture their products in China.

Amazon, Nike BMW and Apple would be highlighted in this report

Logically, when there is a case of this type, Apple appears at the top of the list, but there are more firms that would be exploiting these displaced persons and among them appear Nike, BMW, and even Amazon. In the case of Apple and always according to the ASPI, four factories that work for Apple adding the more well-known "Foxconn" would be exploiting Uighur workers in them.

In addition, last year 2017, Tim Cook himself, CEO of Apple, visited one of these companies listed in the reports and he echoed the cordial treatment of the employees and the closeness of his superiors to them. The company O-Film, was in that case the company and this also appears in the report.

An Apple spokesperson has already advanced with statements to The Washington Post to warn that the company is constantly working to ensure that the supply chain is the most respectful and dignified with the employees. According to this spokesperson, they have not read the report but reiterates that they are working to ensure that their standard is met to the letter in all cases. We will see if they finally make an official statement.
