As usual every year in the Christmas period, Apple has announced through the developer portal the date on which the application review service will cease to be operational due to the Christmas holidays. The dates that the App Store Connect will be closed are December 23-27.
During this period of time, Apple will not accept updates or new applications. Developers will also not be able to change the price of their applications during this period. App Store Connect is responsible for reviewing each and every one of the applications that want to be available both in the App Store and in the Mac App Store.
In the same statement, Apple invites all developers to want to update their applications in the next few weeks to do so before December 23, since otherwise they will have to wait until, probably, the following year, if the number of updates and new applications that are about to reach the App Store and Mac App Store is very high.
The busiest season on the App Store is almost here. Make sure your apps are up-to-date and ready for the holidays as no new apps or app updates will be accepted December 23-27 (PST). Please make sure your releases are scheduled, shipped and approved in advance. Other App Store Connect and Developer Account features will remain available.
The launch of macOS Big Sur has been a major change in operating system design, a change that is forcing many developers to update the user interface to fit good, so the number of updates that App Store Connect is receiving is probably higher than usual.
