Apple acquires the Podcast tool "Pop Up Archive"

The Podcasters can begin to see light at the end of the tunnel, after having known the purchase operation by Apple of a page aimed at doing the work of the Podcasters. This platform makes the work of Podcasters, both beginners and professionals, easier. In the same reviews of applications for Mac as GarajeBand, they complain that Apple has not updated certain functions related to the generation of Podcast. When it seemed that Apple left aside the generation and edition of Podcast, it surprises us with this purchase.

The news comes from the Hardware University. The platform is a startup known by the name of pop-up file, located in Oakland. Its function is to build tools to record, organize and search audio files. In addition, not only does it remain a tool for production, it goes further: it includes a podcast search engine, known by the name of audiosear.ch

Apple has confirmed it is a half purchase, after pointing out all the rumors to the company, when the page websites access shows a message of cessation of activities from November 28. Apple has limited itself to saying:

Apple buys smaller tech companies from time to time, and we generally don't talk about our purpose or plans.

Therefore, the company's plans towards the world of Podcasting are unknown, but as Apple does not usually stitch without thread, we will see that it has us prepared.

Pop Up Archive was founded in 2012 and has since grown thanks to a series of investments and grants, thanks to contributions from Bloomberg Beta, 500 Startups, and Knight Foundation, among others. The company also has a close relationship with PRX; In 2012, the two organizations partnered to build PRX's original web-based filing system.
