This Monday Apple announced a new feature of iTunes Connect that allows developers to choose to be sent weekly App Analytics updates via email, something that makes this type of statistics even more useful to keep track of all aspects of both downloads, such as in-app purchases, searches, application locks ... In addition, within the email itself will also be displayed different statistics comparisons with the previous week so that we can keep a better control on the progress of these applications.

With this new iTunes Connect feature, developers can ultimately receive complete weekly email reports on top apps. This email notification service is the latest update to iTunes Connect for developers, which recently received a facelift in September of last year adding additional features as an option to schedule software release dates in an automated way.

On the other hand, Apple has more recently incorporated a web portal called iTunes Connect Podcast Connect for the validation, publication and management of podcast content.

From my point of view it was time for Apple to offer this function that had other Analytics from third parties, which have long offered similar services for developer applications. It is clear that better late than never and this will ultimately result in a better experience for users. For example, if there is a spectacular increase in the failure rates in a specific application, the report will be notified with the statistics of the previous week indicating to the developer that it is time to start debugging to launch an update that fixes the error.

Developers who are interested in opting for this weekly analysis service from Apple, can do so visiting the Notifications tab in the "Users and Roles" group in the iTunes Connect settings menu.
