Un recent tour of the Apple Campus 2, the new Apple headquarters under construction, whose inauguration is expected in early 2017, reveals new information about materials and construction of the titanic building.
The middle Popular Science reported that construction teams are still installing the more than 3.000 panels glass between 11 and 14 meters wide, and 3 meters high (twice the largest standard glass sheet), and more than 3.100 kg of weight
Inside the building, the Cupertino people continue to bet on the environment and have decided to install more than 4.300 concrete slabs used as floor and ceiling, and that will involve a system of natural cooling, since each of these blocks is hollow inside, thus allowing the return and renewal of air through the structure itself.
The Apple Campus 2 rooms are expected to feature some overwhelming dimensions, given the numbers that we know so far from its construction, such as the unimaginable size of some of the building's doors: up to 330 tons and 28 meters high.
Renewable energy sources and the natural environment will move Apple Campus 2
The company has not joined the renewable energy only through the concrete slabs inside the building, but it ensures that the entire Apple Campus 2 will be capable of self-managing its energy through renewable energy sources.
The solar installed on the building will be capable of generating 16 megawatts that will make up the energy base of the campus, added to 4 megawatts produced by biogas batteries which will convert hydrogen and oxygen into energy.
With these devices, Apple expects to cover three quarters of the energy needs of Apple Campus 2. The rest will be obtained through Monterrey County through First Solar.
With the intention of getting your workers to be in a friendly and positive environment, the company also pays special attention to the exterior of construction. 80% of the land will be dedicated to green areas and nature as an essential part of the project.
