Apple changes strategy to improve Apple Maps

Probably in a few hours we will know the news that Apple has prepared for its software in the coming months. Specifically in Soy de Mac We will do an exhaustive follow-up regarding the new Mac OS 10.13 or the name that the guys from Cupertino have prepared for their new operating system. However, Apple also constantly works with services that implement and improve our operating system. One of these services is Apple Maps and the company is considering changing its continuous improvement plan.

According to a report by iGenerationApple plans to have external partners, who Upon enrollment in the program, they are paid a small amount each time they correct or verify a specific point on the Apple map. These collaborators will receive an amount for each information they report to Apple, which will be around 54 cents, with a maximum of 600 corrections per week. This change in strategy, already used by other applications, allows covering changes anywhere in the world.

Surely the Apple partner will receive a specific area and checkpoints. In the following graphic we can see the screenshot of the collaborator interface.

Apple's maps have been widely criticized since their launch in 2012. The maps contained a large number of errors, both in locations and in navigation mode. The conclusions that were reached is that it was not a product worthy of Apple. Once the errors had been verified, Tim Cook apologized to the Apple community, and had no choice but to dismiss the person responsible, Scott Forstall.

Since then its evolution has been upward but irregular. In the United States, maps are more developed than the rest. The same happens in countries of central and northern Europe. It is true that Apple's market share in certain countries is much higher, and therefore its development is justified. On the other hand, on the other hand, in the rest his maximum rival continues to lead him.

This Apple strategy will be launched immediately, hoping to get results soon. With the information data Apple could reach, even surpass Google, since in certain areas the level of detail of Apple maps are better than those obtained by Google.
