Apple closes the Atlantic City Apple Store

The news is that Apple not only opens stores, when you find one that does not offer the expected results, you make the decision to close it. This is what has happened to the Apple Store in Atlantic City, New Jersey, which will affect 52 employees, that will need to be relocated.

Apple has communicated this first to the store employees, and later to the media, notifying the measure and enrolling the workers in a retraining program. Finally, the store is scheduled to close on June 30, according to the message on the website of the expected closing date.

In fact, it is still possible to sign up for workshops or order some kind of Apple device performance in store.

It is unusual for Apple to make the decision to close stores entirely. Generally, if a place does not work, they make the decision to relocate it to another area of the population where it is located. In this case, the company justifies the closure due to a "sharp drop in tourism". In Apple's words:

We have made the difficult decision not to extend our lease

Apple plans where to relocate frequent customers of this establishment.

We look forward to serving our Greater Atlantic City customers through our Southern New Jersey, Delaware Valley and Greater Philadelphia stores.

Apple has very studied each of its centers. This is one of the reasons why in countries like Spain it does not open more centers, it is not exactly fitting with the needs it wants to cover, with the cost that this entails. We are talking about the type of premises, cost of the property, target audience, and within this target audience, we find the resident population, as well as the tourists who come to this place or close to it. Finding an Apple Store relatively close, anywhere on the planet, is a maxim for Apple.

Even so, the last Apple Store that decided to close Apple was the Simi Valley in California, in September 2017, in this case due to low sales.
