Apple committed to fighting child abuse

Apple is committed to fighting child abuse

When you buy devices from a company, you don't just buy them because we like them or because we think we buy the best. It is also important to know from which company we are purchasing these devices. Apple is one of those companies that sells quality but also commitment in many other respects. The American company is part of a coalition of technology companies committed to the fight against child abuse that occurs online.

Apple together with other companies form what is called, the Technology Coalition which was formed for the first time in 2006. Since then they have been involved in new projects and now in 2020, they launch a new one called “Project Protect”.

The other members that are part of this union together with Apple are, among others: Adobe, Amazon, Cloudflare, Dropbox, Facebook, Flickr, GoDaddy, Google, Microsoft, PayPal, Roblox, Snap, Twitter, Verizon, VSCO, Wattpad and Yobo

The coalition is creating a multi-million dollar fund (it will not be due to lack of money from each of these companies and especially Apple, breaking records in financial markets) for research and innovation.

The end sought is that of design new tools technology against child abuse:

We will invest in accelerating the development and adoption of innovative technology to support the cross-sectoral approach. You want to frustrate online child sexual exploitation and abuse.

In this new project an annual report will be published with the progress and will hold a forum with the same periodicity in which the experts meet and thus be able to generate new ideas and jobs.

Some analysts imply that those who are part of this Coalition want to give more visibility to their work, to send a message: Compromising end-to-end encryption in communications It is not the way. Generate back doors for law enforcement agencies, either.

By generating those back doors, you are inviting everyone in the know to come in and snoop. That is not the idea.
