Apple files a patent related to battery design

This is undoubtedly one of the most important topics on current mobile devices and Apple Macs. After launching the MacBook Retina With a really decisive and effective battery in the form of a "terrace" one on top of the other, the guys from Cupertino continue to believe in improvements for the future.

Now this new patent shows that the work in this regard is not stopping and they are constantly trying to improve the design of the batteries to provide real autonomy solutions to current devices.

For a long time, batteries have not advanced at the same rate as the rest of the components of the MacBook, iPhone or iPad, this is clear. In addition, in the previous version of the 2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, one of the main criticisms by users is precisely the autonomy of these batteries. Therefore, from Apple and the rest of technology companies they continue to make every effort to improve this "Achilles tendon" which is the battery.

The 12-inch MacBook Retina batteries were a real leap in this sense (in addition to the efficient hardware that these teams mount) and is that if we look at the size and thickness of this Mac, it seems impossible that the battery is sufficient powerful to withstand all that work time. In this case the new patent shows one more step in this important component, batteries based on "layers" that roll up to take up less space, adapting to the device and offering interesting autonomy.

As always in these patents it is to be expected that Apple keep working on it and I ended up implementing it on their computers, but that is another matter. We may never see something like the MacBook Retina on the iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, but the patent is already registered.
