Apple hires the same law firm it used against Samsung and Qualcomm in the Epic Games case

Since Apple kicked Epic Games' Fortnite app from the App Store last week, there has been a lot of news related to this case, a case where initially neither of the two companies wants to give their arm to twist. The latest news related to this case is related to the law firms that both companies have hired.

Apple denounced Samsung for copying the unlocking system of the first iPhone. This case was handled by the Gibson Dun Law Firm, a law firm comprised of attorneys Daniel G. Swanson and Richard J. Doren. This firm is the one that usually represents Apple in patent lawsuits  including high-profile cases such as the one related to Epic Games.

Epic Games, which has been studying its strategy for some time, has entrusted its case to the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore, the Same law firm that handled Qualcomm's latest lawsuit that put Tim Cook's company on the ropes forcing him in the end to reach a collaboration agreement in addition to a payment of about $ 6.0000 billion. This law firm is the same one that took the case of Apple against Samsung for the method of unlocking the first iPhone.

Considering that the latest patent lawsuits that have been filed against Apple, Tim Cook's company has not fared well, it may not be the best law firm currently available to defend Apple's interests in this case, a case that once again puts the monopoly of the App Store in the media spotlight, since it is the only way to install applications on iOS devices.

Although Google was also sued by Epic Games, the case focuses on Apple because on the Google platform applications can be installed from any source, not exclusively from the Play Store. In addition, Epic has its own installer, so the Fortnite installation process is very simple and fast.
