The first Apple keynote of 2022 has just concluded, and one of the novelties that Tim Cook and his team have presented to us is the fifth generation of the iPad Air. Same exterior design as its predecessor, but with the novelty of incorporating the powerful M1 processor that is already mounted on the current iPad Pro.
Undoubtedly a revolution in terms of processing power, which together with its new 5G modem, makes this fifth generation of the iPad Air far exceed the benefits of the current one.
It's over"Peek performance«, the first Apple event this year, and one of the novelties that they have shown us from Apple Park, is the new generation of the iPad Air. If it was already a good iPad, now its benefits are multiplied enormously.
This new fifth generation of the iPad Air mounts the well-known processor Apple Silicone M1, with a 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU with the Neural Engine system.
Another outstanding novelty of this new iPad Air is that it also includes 5G connectivity and compatibility with eSIM in its LTE version, and Wi-Fi 6 in the entire range.
Additionally, the fifth-generation iPad Air now includes a ultra wide front camera Improved 12 Mpx and support for Apple Center Stage.
It is still compatible with the second generation Apple Pencil and now has a port Enhanced USB-C that allows data transfers twice as fast as the previous generation. That port can connect the iPad Air to a wide range of accessories, from 6K monitors to external storage.
Its exterior design has not changed compared to the previous generation, but the colors have. It is available in a range of new color options, including space gray, starlight, purple, pink, and blue.
The fifth generation iPad Air maintains the same price as the current, starting at 649 Euros for the 64 GB version and up. It's available to pre-order on Friday, March 11. It will be shipped to customers beginning Friday, March 18.
