Computer sales worldwide are currently low, taking into account that many users already carry out part of their tasks from their smartphones or tablets. This is not something new for us but it is true that Apple had Mac sales figures somewhat above the rest of the companies until at the end of Q2 they stagnated a bit. Now an IDC report replies that worldwide computer shipments are not at their best and Apple occupies the 5th place in this ranking below: Lenovo, HP, Dell and Asus.

Does this mean that Apple is doing things wrong? Well, for some users it is sure that the company is to blame for not innovating, for high prices, etc, etc, but the truth is that many things influence the sale of a Mac. To give a clear and current example I do this reflection: if you have to buy a MacBook Pro you would do it now or wait to see if the rumors of that OLED screen, changes in the design, butterfly keyboard and other news are shown by Apple after the summer. You and I will wait for them almost certainly and although it is true that the person who needs a Mac or PC will end up buying it today, as far as possible we will wait. This worldwide translates into lower sales.
Obviously I do not want to say that the fault of the drop in sales of computers worldwide is the rumors, but everything influences a market in which everything is already a bit saturated and it is normal that in some quarters shipments (as in this case ) of computers descend. On the other hand taking into account the great job done by the competition in the US where Chromebooks are being distributed in large quantities for education or the iPads themselves, this helps the low sales figures. It can not be said that sales of the MacBook Pro will remain low until the presentation of the next model, so next quarter will not be very good in this regard for the guys from Cupertino.
