Apple Maps vehicles have collected data in more than 10 countries and 40 states. The first time we saw Apple Maps vehicles was in New York in 2015. With that, we are not sure about the options we will see in Apple Maps, in the next version of macOS, but the intention to erase faces implies that we will see a version of Google Street View or similar. As early as 2015, Mark Gurman announced that Apple would launch a 3D vision of the streets, in the style of Flyover. For Gurman, Apple's Street View option is different from Google's version.
Perhaps the information collected by Apple will help a future Apple vehicle to drive more precisely on the streets, by having more information about the environment. There is little left to see the results that Apple has prepared for us.
