Apple patents a new universal magnetic port

Universal Magnetic Port-0

We have recently learned of a patent by Apple that would refer to a universal magnetic port that would be integrated by the company in each and every one of its devices, if it became a reality, we could talk about a standard for all the company's devices.

Specifically, as you can see from the images, it is about different adapters that would be introduced into the magnetic port so that in that way, any type of connection is compatible with the specific device.

Universal Magnetic Port-2

Recently, another patent was shown referring to an applicable connector system. On this occasion, Apple describes a current recurring problem by referring to the multitude of adapters and cables with which users have to deal with and replace as new connections appear.

The number and type of electronic devices available to consumers have increased enormously in recent years and this increase shows no signs of abating ... As the number of standard interfaces has grown in recent years, so has the number of types of connectors in electronic devices ... This has several negative aspects, that is, the housings that house these devices can have more than one opening created for each type of connection and this will make the appearance of the device worse, in addition to increasing costs and complexity making it less attractive to the market.

Now with the 12 ″ MacBook we have the USB-C connection as the only universal port, however it forces us to carry different adapters in the form of cables, Therefore, a more elegant solution would be preferable that would allow us to have the capabilities of the interface but with the advantages of this system in which we would only have to have the cables connected to their corresponding adapter and exchange it at the appropriate time.
