Apple Pay arrives in Singapore from the hand of American Express

Apple-Pay

A few months ago, Apple in the hands of Tim Cook announced that during this year, electronic payments technology would reach Spain, Singapore and Hong Kong thanks to American Express. While in Spain we still do not know when it will land in our country, Apple Pay has just arrived in Singapore from the hand of American Express as announced by Tim Cook.

Last night Apple updated the support page that it offers about Apple Pay adding Singapore to the list of countries where this payment technology is already available. Currently there are six countries where Apple Pay is available: Canada, China, Australia, United Kingdom, United States and now Singapore.

Apple Pay is now available in the country thanks to the alliance that Apple has reached with American Express, an alliance that was announced in October 2015. Thanks to this alliance Apple Pay is now available in Canada, Australia and Singapore, but soon it will arrive in Hong Kong and Spain, according to the CEO of Apple.

As we can see on the Apple website in the country if we want to add a card to use Apple Pay, we must click on the + button and select Add credit or debit card. At the moment it is only available to all those users who have a card with American Express, but on the website, we can see how Visa cards will be available shortly.

We are currently able to pay with Apple Pay at the following locations in Singapore: Starbucks, FairPrice, StarHub, Uniqlo, TopShop and Shaw theaters and soon at BreadTalk, Cold Storage, FoodRepublic and Giant. But you can also pay in all the establishments that currently have a dataphone with NFC technology.
