Apple begins construction of its second data center in Denmark

It is clear that data centers are a very important part in today's companies to provide storage services to their users and this Apple has been clear for a long time. In the case of Denmark, they have had their first Data Center since last summer, now they start the works for the second of these centers as confirmed by the Ministry of Energy of the Danish government and by Erik Stannow himself, Director of Product Marketing for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Those of Cupertino will invest about 291 million dollars for this second Data Center in Denmark and will be self-sufficient thanks to renewable energy. We have already commented on previous occasions that Apple is betting on totally self-sufficient and environmentally friendly data centers as it is in this case. From the little that is known about the completion of the works, it is possible that everything will be finished and working during the second quarter of 2019. The location of this data center is in Aabenraa near the border with Germany.

An official statement and the news in Reuters thus confirm the start of the works of this new data center will have about 166.000 square meters of facilities, will serve to strengthen Apple's online services throughout Europe, including cloud services, the different iTunes stores, Siri, Apple Maps, the App Store, Apple Music, etc. It is clear that the future of many companies also depend on these services and Apple, Google or Facebook among many others are the ones that are investing the most money in recent years.
