Apple TV + signs collaboration agreement with Oscar winner Adam McKay

Adam McKay

Deadline reports that Apple's streaming video platform Apple TV + has achieved a multi-year first-choice agreement with Oscar winner Adam McKay's production studio Hyperobject Industries. McKay is a screenwriter, director and producer and his production company works as a multiplatform production agency.

This new agreement between the two companies means that Apple TV + will take priority in future scripted feature film projects. That is, Apple will have the opportunity to first see the films produced by Hyperobject Industries and, from there, decide whether to bring them to the screen or not. If you are not interested, the studio may offer them to other streaming video platforms.

McKay has worked on various projects over the years, including the hit comedies Brothers by balls (with Will Ferrell and Jhon C. Reilly) and Past laps (also with Will Ferrell). He has also worked on The big bet, movie with which won the Oscar from the Hollywood Academy as Best Adapted Screenplay.

With this agreement, producers Kevin Messick, Todd Schulman and Betsy Koch will also work with Apple. At the moment, it is not known which projects of the production studio will see the light on Apple TV +, but it probably won't be long before we start hearing about those projects.

The most recent first-choice deal, we found it in with MishaGreen, who has reached an agreement of this kind, after HBO's resignation to produce the second season of the Lovecraft Country series, a series that has received an Emmy Award nomination, awards where Apple is eligible for 35 awards, 20 of them just for Ted Lasso.
