For a few days, Apple has been marketing, at least in the Apple Store online, a new adapter for play content from our Mac to an external monitor. We are talking about the dongle or dock that we connect to the Mac through a USB-C port and we have an output for another USB-C port, an HDMI input and another USB-A port.
But the most relevant of this new Apple accessory is the connectivity for connection of 4K video with 3.840 x 2.160 resolution at 60 Hz. We can buy the product in the Apple store, but to differentiate it externally with its predecessor, this has the number of model A2119, compared to the A1621 above.
But if you want more information on the differences, Apple has published a document with the differences between the two. Regarding the differences with the port HDMI is now 2.0, compared to 1.4b above. This allows us to take advantage of the resolution indicated at the beginning of the article. On the other hand, this Apple accessory can be used on a Mac, but also on the iPad Pro. The list of Apple products where it is compatible is the following:

To use the coupling, it is necessary to have installed macOS Mojave 10.14.6 or later for Macs and iOS 12.4 or later on the iPad Pro. On the other hand, this new adapter includes HDR support in HDR10 and Dolby Vision, on compatible receiving devices. On the other hand, the functions in the USB-C and USB-A ports is the same as the previous model.
At this time it is available for sale the Apple adapter, with a delivery date on August 16 (taking into account that August 15 is a holiday in Spain). The price of this adapter is 79€. It is in the high-end of adapters, but if you don't need more ports, you get a high-quality adapter for a reasonable price.
