Apple values a scenario where the company pays taxes in the country where it makes sales

It is one of the controversial points, not only of Apple, but of all the technology companies that have an important worldwide relevance. These companies install their fiscal headquarters in a country of the European Union where the payment of taxes for the sale of products is lower. Therefore, even if we buy a Mac in Spain, Apple will pay most of its taxes, in this case in Ireland, where the company maintains its tax headquarters for Europe. Various judgments are forcing these companies to enter the part that they save by paying taxes in these countries.

Tim Cook and Emmanuel Macron, met last weekend in France, taking advantage of Cook's visit to several Apple suppliers. Macron told Cook that Apple must pay taxes in the country where it sells its products.

Macron's office said the two would not comment on past tax disputes, but Cook accepted that tax laws around the world are changing so that companies pay taxes where the money is generated.

It is said that Apple pays in Ireland only 2.5% of the profit obtained from sales. The fine imposed by the EU on Apple amounts to 13 million dollars. In 2015 Italy sued the apple company, which was ordered to pay 318 million in taxes.

For this or other open conflicts, Apple would value changing its strategy and paying for taxes in the country of sale of its products. Another thing is that it negotiates with the different administrations, a specific treatment based on the investments it carries out.

This does not mean that Apple renounces its present interests in relation to the EU demand, so that the company regularizes its taxes paid exclusively in Ireland, with preferential treatment.
