Apple wants to gamify until the out of drinks

The concept that is being adopted in the Big Apple consists of going out for drinks (from bar to bar) without detaching from iPhone (as up to now, let's go), but turning this into a game.

The situation

Let's see, I put you in a situation, you are with your group of friends, in front of you the street where you usually go out on a Friday night, the plan you have is to have a drink or two in a bar, change to the next one, do the same, and so on until you go through all the bars on the happy street (or rather until you get tired, which is what will end up happening). Well, the idea that they are implanting in NY and also to promote this way of going out at night (they call it there "Pub Crawl") has as its central element iBeacons. One (or more of the group) downloads a application from the Apple Store (at the moment it is only available for iPhone, but it will come to Android) call BeaconCrawl App, follow the steps to register and… that's it.

Going back to the situation in which you are the usual group of friends, in the middle of the street with the most cool of your city. One of you let's say has this app. Well the "Magic" resides, in that when walking down the street and passing through the door of one of those bars, adhering to the promotion of the application, in the iPhone You will get a notification, thanks to the activation of a Strategically placed iBeacon. And Here is the game! In said notification, apart from appearing the promotion of the site in question, a possibly "Challenge", (for non-English speakers, a Reto) related to that bar. For example, that you go to the bar and each of you order a specific type of drink, take a photo and upload it to a social network, or ask for a certain type of aperitif, or even simply do a Check-in at that bar. (They are possible examples that can go out, true) and once this is done you would enter contests within the App or new promotions, all this while you You reís disconnect counting the events of the week.

When you get bored of that bar it's time to go to another. You go out to the street, you start to walk and suddenly Another notification! In this case you get the directions on how to go to another bar where a new promotion is taking place and immediate, (2 × 1 in glasses, for example) of which you had no idea, because it is only for people who have your same application. Obviously, you go to this new bar, where in addition to being comfortable and participating in a new Challenge you are going to save some Euros (Dollars, remember that at the moment he is only implanting in New York).
