Apple Worker Diversity Report

workers-apple

This is one of those reports that the Cupertino company throws on certain occasions and that its purpose is none other than to inform about some data totally unrelated to the devices they sell. These types of reports deal with some data on the origin of their workers (which are currently 98.000) and there are many companies that today make this type of reports on the diversity of the workers they have on staff, at least in the United States .

In addition to the extensive report that Apple shows us and details on its page websites, the CEO of the company himself explains to us the value he personally gives to having this diversity of workers on the workforce and ends up stating that this is without a the essence of apple.

We leave after the video published by the company itself a part of the text that Tim Cook adds in the report:

At Apple, our 98.000 employees share a passion for products that change people's lives, and from the earliest days we've known that diversity is critical to our success. We deeply believe that inclusion inspires innovation.

Our definition of diversity goes beyond the traditional categories of race, gender and ethnicity. It includes personal qualities that are often neglected, such as sexual orientation, veterans, or people with disabilities. Who we are, where we come from, and what we have experienced influences the way we perceive and solve problems. We believe in celebrating diversity and we invest in it.

Apple is committed to transparency, which is why we are releasing statistics on our company's race and gender distribution. Let me say in advance that as CEO, I am not satisfied with the numbers on this page. They are not new to us, and we have been working hard for quite some time to improve them. We are making progress, and we are committed to being as innovative in promoting diversity as we are in developing our products.

Inclusion and diversity have been a goal for me during my time at Apple, and they are among my priorities as CEO. I am proud to work alongside many high-level executives we have hired and promoted over the years, including Eddy Cue and Angela Ahrendts, Lisa Jackson, and Denise Young-Smith. The talented leaders on my team come from all over the world, and each brings a unique point of view based on their experience and culture. And our board of directors is stronger than ever with the addition of Sue Wagner, elected in July.

I receive emails from clients all over the world, and a name that comes up often is Kim Paulk. She is a specialist at the Apple Store on West 14th Street in Manhattan. Kim has a medical condition that has affected her vision and hearing since she was a child. Our customers could not be more satisfied with Kim's service, and they say that she embodies Apple's best characteristics. His guide dog, Gemma, is affectionately known to the store as the "iDog."

When we think of diversity, we think of people like Kim. She inspires her co-workers and also her clients.

Around the world, our Apple team is united in the belief that being different makes us better. We know that each generation has a responsibility to build on the achievements of the past, expanding the rights and freedoms that we enjoy for the many who are still fighting for what is right.

Together, we are committed to diversity within our company and the advancement of equality and human rights everywhere.

Tim
