It is clear that Apple has users who love the brand, others who no longer like it so much and others who have never liked it. This is what happens with any current electronic device company, we can say that it is more or less normal, but when it comes to jobs or the environment, things go up a little more and even the demonstrations (peaceful that always ) by those affected. This is not so common to see anymore and it is certainly something that says a lot about a problem that is occurring in Ireland in recent months. Apparently the basis of the problem or what has led these people to demonstrate in the streets of the center of the city of Athenry, is that there is a request for judicial review of the construction of this new data center that would go to the outskirts of the city with some dimensions of 166.000 square meters and was due to start operating in 2017.
The new data center that Apple wants to build will cost the company 850 million euros and it is located as we say on the outskirts of Athenry, in Galway County, but the start of the works is being delayed due to three local residents and the companies are not in agreement with the plans of the company. On this occasion, the requirements of Sinéad Fitzpatrick, Allan Daly and Brian McDonagh, for the review of the construction of the Apple center, continues and everything seems to have stopped for about 6 months, which is when the hearing will issue a resolution.
That is why thousands of people who want this data center in the city demonstrated last Sunday to support Apple's project that in theory should already be underway but is not due to these supposedly environmental problems. What is clear is that Google, Microsoft, Amazon and very soon Facebook already have their data centers in Ireland for it most businessmen, authorities and users believe that it is very important to Athenry that Apple has final approval, but obviously respecting all environmental regulations.
