A popular saying in Spain already says that it is not even painted on the news: "For asking that it not remain." It is true that the mayor of the city of Cupertino can do and say what he wants, but lashing out at Apple for an issue totally unrelated to the company seems a bit daring to us.
The mayor of the city does not have enough with the fame and publicity that the company with the bitten apple gives him, in addition to the money and infrastructure, which the company also wants to cost him part of the public expenses of the city. Apparently Chang asks Apple for this amount of money to fix certain traffic problems in the city that he says are caused by the buildings that the company has in the city.
In addition to accusing Apple of these traffic jams, the mayor himself explains that Apple security "accompanied him to leave" the offices when he wanted to speak with the head of this (Tim Cook) about the problem on the city's roads. It is necessary to make it clear that according to The Guardian, Apple has paid the city of Cupertino nothing more and nothing less than 9,2 million dollars in taxes, 18% of the total public funds of the Cupertino treasury.
I really do not personally know if Apple is directly at fault or not in the traffic jams in the city since it is true that it moves a large mass of workers, but it is clear that in this case it seems that the mayor who knows the amount of money they move in the company of the bitten apple, wants to squeeze it a little more and get some other credit for it in infrastructure or improvements that would be created with Apple money.
Well, just hope for a little good sense and common sense.
I think it happens here and we would not be surprised if a politician said such nonsense, but we would laugh even more.
