Cross out the information in your documents with Black Out, free for a limited time

Surely on more than one occasion, you have been forced to use preview or the photo editing application on your smartphone to cross out some part of the image or document that you want to share with other people. Although it is true, that it is a very simple process, in the Mac App Store we can find applications that they are dedicated to this exclusively.

We are talking about Black Out, an application that has a price in the Mac App Store of 2,29 euros, but that for a limited time we can get it for free. We do not know how long the offer will last, so I would advise you not to take long to download it, as long as your Mac is managed by macOS 10.15.

Thanks to Black Out, we can add a black strip in the part of the text or image that we want to be shown when we are going to share it. In addition, for all those users who love privacy, with which this application is related, we can also remove the metadata, that is to say, the location information together with the values used by the camera to make the capture, such as the shutter speed, the aperture of the diaphragm, the ISO ...

The operation of the application is very simple. First of all, we must drag the image to which we want to add the black stripes and with the mouse draw the rectangle over the area we want to cover. When you release the mouse, a black stripe will appear. We can also open any photo in the application directly from the Finder through the share menu, which we access with the right mouse button.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, Black Out requires macOS 10.15 or higher, a limitation that doesn't make any sense when you consider that it simply adds a black text box to images and has always worked in versions before macOS.
