Chrome in the spotlight for its security policy

chrome.google

The problem is that once any user has accessed the desktop with the system or user password, they can see any password stored in the Google browser simply with open the settings panel.

This panel has a passwords section that can be seen by anyone showing the website related password visited so obviously security is totally compromised.

For example, the Firefox browser works in a very similar way but at least it has the detail of asking if the user in question is sure they want to show these passwords, but in Safari you need to enter the session password to show this information, something that in my opinion is much better and safer than just showing it.

Google is not clear your password security. In a world where Google promotes its browser on YouTube, in various advertisements in theaters and on billboards, developers are not clear with the public. It is the majority market and therefore users with an overwhelming majority who do not know that it works this way. They don't expect their passwords to be that easy to see. Every day millions of normal users are saving their passwords in Chrome and if they are not properly informed, this is not right.

From what you see for Google it is not so important because they say that before being able to access it, the malicious user must have been able to access the session in which he wants to steal said passwords and ask for more passwords it is just "theater."

The solution is easy. Do not use it. I don't use it for precisely that. I have a password for each site and it would be a pain in the ass to be putting each one of them on every page I enter because saving them is unthinkable.
