Many of the existing applications related to the maintenance of our Mac are just that, maintenance applications that clean up temporary file leftovers or they will free up unused system memory that has been used for other tasks before.
However, Cocktail, as its name indicates, mixes the best of maintenance applications with various options that will make our 'life easier' within OS X, such as small scripts to view hidden files or a simple check that activating it will show us the System library that otherwise we would have to activate by terminal or by holding down the Option key while clicking on the "Go" menu of the Finder.
Specifically, we can see the disk's permissions and reset the ACLs at the moment that these permissions begin to give us problems with errors opening folders or programs for example. We also have a Network and Interface tab with which to activate or deactivate graphical effects from the Dock or manage said network until cleaning the trash from the trash or checking the status of the disks.
In its version 7.2.1 it claims to be compatible with the latest major version of the operating system, that is OS X Mavericks, but on the other hand I I have been able to detect small errors That hinder the experience a bit, such as light hangs (it responds again after a few seconds) or options that do not work quite well.
Even so, with these little flaws still to be polished, it seems to me a very complete program in relation to its options and that for the price of $ 19 it offers us a wide range of possibilities that we would have to pay in different applications apart as CleanmyMac, so it pays as long as the developer continues to improve support with new versions of the operating system and go correcting bugs.
