Columbus and Pittsburgh already have information on public transportation

In the last keynote we could see how Japan will be one of the countries where Apple wants to focus all its attention. On the one hand we could see how thanks to the alliance with Felica, Apple Pay will arrive in the country in a few weeks, but in addition, information about public transport will also reach the entire country, not only the capital.

But it is not the only country where information on public transport will be available soon, since taking advantage of the launch of iOS 10, the Cupertino-based company just updated the city listing where you can find information about public transportation: Columbus, the capital of Ohio and Pittsburg in Pennsylvania.

Users of Apple devices visiting the city of Columbus will be able to travel throughout the city using only public transport, either with the bus or with the underground transport system. The underground transport information shows us the routes in different colors so that we quickly know which lines we should take at any given time.

As for Pittsburg, in the state of Pennsylvania, the public transportation information that Apple has added to the Apple Maps service is the same, including all routes in metropolitan transport by bus and metro. All the information shown allows us to move around the city without having to use our own vehicle or private transport vehicles such as Uber or public taxis.

This new functionality came from the hand of iOS 9, although at the moment it is available in a few cities in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, Germany, Mexico and China. Expansion plans in Europe at the moment are very limited since at the moment this information is only available in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Czech Republic.
