In this article I will explain a utility that has the option of "printing and scanning" of OSX and that it is possible that not many of us have noticed it, it is neither more nor less, the possibility of combine into one document all those PDF that we are creating.

When scanning we will be given the option to save the file in Multiple formats but only if we do it in adobe PDF we can combine many of them at will.

To begin we must open the printing and scanning option from system preferences in the Hardware area, as if we were going to scan something normally. Once on the corresponding screen we only have to open scanner option.

Within the scanner functionality, the first thing will be to name the document and click on overview, select what we are interested in scanning and when saving, mark it as PDF, at that moment the option to combine it into a single document will appear.

Once these options are activated, we will only have go scanning all the pages we need. But, what happens if we have forgotten a page and want to enter it later? or they have simply sent us another PDF, JPG, ... and we need to include it in the document we have created. No problem since from the preview we can handle it. To do this, we will first open the document in preview and activate the thumbnails.

Once "ours" is open, we will open the one they have sent us to add the documents we want from one to another and thus combine them, clicking on the miniature and dragging it between them. Although the source file is in a format other than PDF, the preview will give us the option to export it and save it with another extension from the File - Export menu, without problem.

I think that this functionality that OSX gives us is very useful in addition to easy to run to modify our files without the need for third-party programs.
