Convert your MacBook Air screen to touch with this device

It seems that in recent times the design touch of Jony Ive, is beginning to go practically unnoticed by the company, and I am not saying it, but several American media that recently raised the possibility that the chief designer of Apple, Mr. Ive, would have moved on to other non-design related duties. When Microsoft introduced the Surface Studio, that spectacular AIO with a 28-inch touch screen, several journalists asked Jony Ive if Apple's plans were to offer a device with a touch screen of such dimensions. Jony stated that they would never think of launching something similar, proving once again that Apple follows its own marked path without stopping to listen to the opinion they may have about it, something Microsoft has shown more than once that it does.

While sooner or later Apple is forced to launch a device similar to the Microsoft Studio, MacBook Air users can turn their veteran device into a touchscreen one, saving the distance. Thanks to a device called AirBar, users of this MacBook can interact with the screen as if it were really touch. Logically, the results are not the same as if Apple had implemented a touch surface similar to the Surface Pro and the Surface Book (again and although many users do not like it, we have to refer to Microsoft again).

How AirBar works

AirBar is an elongated device that is placed in the lower part of the screen, to which it is attached by means of magnets and projects a field of light on the surface of the screen. AirBar detects the position and height of the gestures to represent them on the screen, either by zooming by bringing your fingers together, sliding your fingers to change the desktop, scrolling over a page ...

Only compatible with MacBook Air

The design of this device requires that under the screen there is a gap of 17 mm to place it and be able to work without interference on the entire screen, and the MacBook Air is the only model that has this design.

Poll

Since the introduction of the Surface Studio, I have been looking for arguments of value among my fellow bloggers to demonstrate why a Mac with a touch screen similar to the Surface Studio would not be a good idea, considering that it is one of the tools most used by designers and that they would surely appreciate being able to work directly with the Apple Pencil on the screen of the device.

What would you think if Apple launched a Mac with a touch screen similar to the Surface Studio?
